Near-photoreal product renders, tuned live with the client.

ROLE
Lighting & Shading
ENGINE
Unreal Engine 5
For Marmot, we built photorealistic 3D product visuals in Unreal Engine 5 for two product lines: the Mad River sleeping bag series and the PreCip Stretch jacket series, focusing specifically on lighting and shading.

The Approach

We used Unreal Engine 5 because it lets us tweak lighting and shaders in real time in front of the client and experiment freely with different environments, instead of waiting on offline render passes.
01

Lighting & shading

Photoreal-grade lighting and shader work built and refined live, the core of our role on both product lines.

02

Mad River renders

Near-photoreal 3D renders of the Mad River sleeping bag series.

03

360° PNG sequence

A PNG sequence turning each sleeping bag through motion, showing every perspective.

04

PreCip Stretch renders

3D renders produced for Marmot’s PreCip Stretch jacket series.

The Result

Product imagery close enough to photoreal to hold up as final marketing material, produced and approved through fast, real-time review with the client rather than long offline turnarounds.
